Searching Documents

Online document searches are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  We are working to convert our historical paper records to electronic records and make them available for online searching.

Records Available Online

Iowa Land Records has indexing and document images for part of 1986 to the present; indexing but no document images for part of 1986 to 1984.

Online Historical Records has Auditor Transfer Books; Auditor Plat Books; Recorder Indexes but no document images for 1968 to 1983; and Recorder Plats Book A through H.

Records to 2014 are recorded by book and page, 4 digits for the book number and 4 digits for the page number (i.e. book 0564 page 0012).  Records from 2014 to the present are recorded by Instrument Number, 4 digit year with a dash then the 5 digit document number (i.e. Instrument number 2014-01011).

We do not perform any searches for recorded records.  If you provide us with a book and page or instrument number for the document you need, we will email or mail the document to you.
