Our Mission

To provide comprehensive coordinated care to individuals with life limiting illnesses and to their families and to support them in the process of death and bereavement.

Our goal is to provide palliative care that addresses the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of service for the terminally ill as an integrated whole.

Essence of Life Hospice in Iowa focuses on caring, not curing, and is provided in the patient’s home or other facility. Members of the our team make regular visits to assess the patient and provide additional care or other services. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality care. We are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our team develops a care plan that meets each patient’s individual needs for pain management and symptom control. The team generally consists of:

• Medical Director
• Patient Care Coordinator
• Nurses

• Home health aides
• Music therapists
• Massage therapists

• Physical therapists
• Clergy or other counselors
• Trained volunteers

Medical & social services to women, children, adults, seniors, & families. Nursing services include home visits, family support, parent education, transportation, & flu immunizations.

Specialties include primary care in family practice, and general surgery, as well as specialists in anesthesiology, bariatrics/weight loss surgery, emergency medicine, gynecology, internal medicine, mental health, obstetrics, pain management, pathology, podiatry, psychiatry, radiology, rheumatology, and urology. Visiting specialists in 11 areas provide additional specialty care for area residents.

Provides in home nursing and home care services.

At Rhonda’s House, residents receive recovery support from trained and caring peer staff members who have also experienced mental health challenges and who can share successful strategies for regaining and maintaining wellness. The United States Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has recognized peer-delivered respite services for individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis as an evidence-based practice.

On With Life began as the dream of eight families - a dedicated, passionate group of survivors and their families, faced with the challenge of rebuilding lives shattered by brain injury. Their dedication resulted in a post-acute program focused on the unique and complex needs of brain injury survivors. Since then, On With Life has expanded from a post-acute inpatient program in a single location to seven programs across multiple campuses, serving thousands of individuals a year.

At St. Croix Hospice, we’ll ensure that hospice care is provided to you in a way which brings dignity, respect, and compassion on your terms. Universal Pediatrics specializes in home health care and private-duty nursing services for the pediatric population with serious medical conditions. We bring compassionate, high-quality care directly to our client's homes. 

Our goal is to provide individuals with life-changing disabilities a chance to live in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by their loved ones. By providing staffing needs for clients with medical complexities, kids and young adults can live as fully as possible with loved ones by their side. We partner with physicians and other health care professionals for each referral and throughout the plan of care, to ensure every staff member is specifically trained and prepared to provide the highest quality care for our client's unique individual medical needs.
